I found a great group that gives lessons in
web design called Juelle's Web Design.
These pages are where you can see the results
of my lessons. This is Lesson 1 - "Color Coordination."
Scroll down to read all of the particulars.
The color I used for the top background is #a57e92
and it was taken from the image. I applied an effect
to it using Fantastic Machine's Paint Engine. I made
duplicate layers of the pallette image and overlapped
them to fill a 300x300 square. I then applied PSP's
Mosaic - Antique effect to it, using default settings.
The middle background, that is just a thin line going
around the purple one, was created by applying Filter
Factory J's Twister effect to the same layered tube image.
In order to create backgrounds of the effects, I applied
Simple's Quick Tile to all three of them so that they
would be seamless. The font that I used is called "Classic."
The color is #242761 and was taken from the image and it is
oulined with the Twister background and drop-shadowed.
These are the initial colors that I selected from my image:
just so I would have a starting base. I used the purple to
create the top, mottled background, the yellow is the color
that I chose to use for links on this page, and I used the
dark blue of the font for the text.
