Vionatraba a.k.a. Vianathraba - a regent of Sunday and one of the three spirits of the Sun who resides in the Fourth Heaven and is invoked in the east.

Virgin Mary - the Roman Catholic queen of the angels.

Vishna - a mighty angel of the Bhagavad-Gita who, along with Brahma and Mahish, was born into existence from the primary properties.

Vishnu - according to the Bhagavad-Gita, the first avatar who was entrusted with the preservation of all that Brahma was created. Among other miraculous deeds, Vishnu is said to have assumed the form of a fish so that he could chase after Rakshas, a demon also known as Samak Azur, and retrieve the Anant-Ved - the source of the Four Vedas.

Vngsursh - an angel of the summer equinox who is invoked as protection against the evil eye.

Vohu Mano ("good thought") - one of the Amesha Spentas of Zoroastrianism. As the meaning of his name indicates, Vohu Mano is the personification of good thought and, in the Avesta, he ranks first among the Amesha Spentas. He is responsible for receiving the souls of the faithful upon their deaths.

Voices - a group of seven angels in gnostic mysticism who reside in the Treasury of Light. According to Fludd in Ultriusque cosmi majoris et minoris historia, there are three gnostic hierarchies that he calls Voices, Acclamations, and Apparitions.

Voiza - an angel who serves Beratiel as a ruler of the twelfth hour of the day (noon).

Vohumanah - an angel who encourages humans to think positively and have an optimistic outlook. Those who are negative and worried should invoke him to change their consciousness.

Vretil a.k.a. Dabriel, Enoch, Uriel, Pravuil, Raduiriel, etc. - often identified with Radweriel YHVH, he is the Divine scribe who keeps the sacred books and God's wisdom. He is also said to be the wisest of all the angels. Vretil belongs to the order of the Archangels and he is thought by some to be "the man clothed in linen." According to the text Enoch II, Vretil dictates, while Enoch writes, "366 books in thirty days and thirty nights."

Vrihaspati a.k.a. Vachaspati and Brihaspati - a Vedic guardian angel of hymns and prayers, the "instructor of the Gods," and "first-born in the highest Heaven of supreme light."

Vulamahi - an angel who is invoked during Solomonic Bat consecrations.

Vvael - an angel of the First Heaven who rules Monday and is invoked in the north.

Wall - an angel who fell from the Powers who now serves as one of Hell's grand dukes. He commands thirty-six legions of infernal entities and when invoked he appears in the form of a dromedary camel.

Wallim - an angel of the First Heaven.

Weatta - an angel of the Seal from The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses.

Wezynna - a ministering angel who is summoned during cabalistic rites in The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses.

Wormwood - "a mighty prince or power of the air, the instrument of sore judgments on large numbers of the wicked." Revelation says that his is the name of a star that fell from Heaven when the third angel blew his horn. St. Paul, who refers to Satan as the "prince of the power of the air," considers them to be the same being.

Xaphan a.k.a. Zephon - a fallen angel who ranks second in Hell. He joined up with Satan during the rebellion. Satan was only too glad to have him because of his inventive mind. During the rebellion he suggested that they set fire to Heaven but, Xaphan was cast into the abyss before he could carry out his plan. Therefore, he is in now charge of eternally tending the flames of Hell. His symbol is a pair of bellows.

Xathanael a.k.a. Nathanael - while the Roman Catholics and others claim that all of the angels were made at the same time, the Gospel of Bartholomew says that Xathanael was the sixth angel to be created. The testimony of Beliar the devil makes the same claim but, this is a less than reliable source.

Xexor - an angel of The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses who is invoked as a kind and helpful spirit during ritual conjurations.

Yael a.k.a. Yale and Yehel ("mountain goat") - an angel of the Thrones who is invoked at the close of the Jewish Sabbath.

Yahadriel - according to The Zohar, the "mouth of the well," one of three "mouths" created the night before the First Sabbath. The others are Kadriel and "the mouth of the Lord."

According to Isaac ha-Cohen he is the fifth of the ten unholy sephiroth. Because of his tasks, sources differ as to whether or not they consider Za'afiel to be a good angel or an evil one.

Za'amiel - an angel of storms and, according to Isaac ha-Cohen, the ruler of the sixth of the unholy sephiroth.

Za'aphiel - See Za'afiel.

Zaazohash - the angel chief of the sixth hour of the night.

Zabaniyah - Arabic angels who serve Malik as guards.

Zabdiel - the first name of Kunya and one of the fourteen unspeakable names of God, according to The Sword of Moses.

Zabesael - an angel of the season along with Milkiel.

Zabkiel - a regent of the Thrones.

Zacharael a.k.a. Yahriel ("remembrance of God") - a prince of the Dominions who lives in the Second Heaven and one of the seven Archangels of geonic lore. In the cabala he is considered to be a member of the Powers and a ruler of Jupiter. And, according to Paracelsus' doctrine of Talismans, he is Pi-Zeus, an Egyptian planetary genii and the ruler of Thursday.

He can be invoked to grant one a good memory and is one of the nine regents of Heaven, as well as an Archangel. The Zohar names him as being one of the two chieftains who, along with Zophiel, assists Michael in battle.

Zadykiel a.k.a. Zadkiel - the angel of the planet Jupiter, according to Lenormant's Chaldean Magic.

Zafiel - an angel of rain.

Zafniel - an angel of geonic lore who rules one of the months of the year.

Zafrire - angels of the morning.

Zagiel - an Enochian fallen Archangel.

Zagin - a ministering angel of The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses.

Zagveron - a Solomonic angel who is invoked when consecrating Salt.

Zagzagel, Zagzagael, Zagnzagiel and Zamzagiel ("God's righteousness" and "divine splendor") - an angel of wisdom and instructor of young angels who speaks seventy languages. He is also a prince of the Divine Presence, of the Torah, and a prince regent of the Fourth Heaven who resides in the Seventh Heaven. He is credited with having taught Moses the Ineffable Name and, according to The Legends of the Jews he is the "angel with the horns of glory."

Zahzahiel a.k.a. Zagzagel - an angel who belongs to the Shananim, an order of angels similar to the Seraphim.

Zainon - an Solomonic angel who is invoked when conjuring the Reed.

Zakiel - an angel who is invoked during the creation of Syriac spellbinding charms. According to The Book of Protection, he serves as the "binding [of] the tongue of the ruler."

Zakkiel - an angel of storms who participated in transforming Enoch from a human into the angel Metatron.

Zakun - an angel of the Divine Presence. He, along with Lahash, led 184 myriad of angels on a mission to intercept Moses' prayer against dying before it could reach God.

Zaksakiel YHVH - a regent of Libra.

Zadzadkiel ("merit-God") - the angel prince who is charged with recording the merits of Israel upon the throne of Glory. The great angel Gallisur removes the crown of glory from his head and falls upon his face to pay obeisance to Zadzadkiel.

Zalbesael a.k.a. Zehlebhsheel and Zalebsel ("heart of God") - an angel of the rainy season.

Zarall - one of two Cherubim whose images are engraved into the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant, the other is Jael.

Zaraph - a fictional angel who is Moore's third to be created, and a Seraphim, in The Loves of the Angels.

Zarazaz a.k.a. Maskelli and Maskelli-Maskello - an angel from Pistis Sophia who is "called by the demons after a strong demon of their own place Maskelli." His job is to guard the veil of the celestial treasure house.

Zarzakiel - possibly another name for the angel Zagzagel, for they're both credited with being the angel who records the merits of Israel upon the throne of Glory. Zarzakiel is also identified with Sopheriel the Lifegiver.

Zathael - one of the twelve angels of vengeance and the first angel created by God. Only the names of six of the twelve angels of vengeance are known, the other five are: Satanael, Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, and Nathanael. Some Jewish sources equate these angel with the twelve angels of the presence.

Zazriel ("strength of God") - a prince of the Divine Presence. An Enochian angel who represents the "divine strength, might, and power." He is an angel of the Merkabah who shows obeisance to Geburatiel.

Zeasar - an angel who, according to The Secret Books of the Egyptian Gnostics, is "one of the great powers of the higher world, and related to the river Jordan flowing upstream."

Zebul ("temple" and "habitation") - an angel who rules the Sixth Heaven at night, Sabath rules it during the day. However, in Visions of Ezekiel Zebul is said to rule the Third Heaven, and Enoch says he rules the Fourth.

Zebuleon - one of the nine angels who will sit in judgment at the time of the world's end.

Zebuliel - a principal regent of the west side of the First Heaven, who accompanies the prayers of the faithful up to the Second Heaven. He only rules when the moon appears and reigns over many angel chiefs who guard the nine doors.

Zeburial - one of the angels who guard the halls of the Seventh Heaven.

Zechariah - an angel who revealed the face of God, in whom was Yahweh's name, and whose presence was equivalent to Yahweh's.

Zechariel ("Jehovah remembers") - one of the seven regents of the world and a governor of the planet Jupiter.

Zehanpuryu'h ("this one sets free") - a great prince of the Divine Presence and a prince of the Merkabah, who out ranks Metatron. He is also a chief of the Heavenly Hosts and, along with Michael, weighs the souls of the dead on the scales of Divine Justice. Zehanpuryu'h is the guardian of the seventh hall of the Seventh Heaven and the advocate general of Heaven who serves as a dispenser of divine mercy.

Zephaniel - the regent of the tenth choir, the Ishim, which is made up of the souls of the saints, or the Lord's Elect.

Zophiel a.k.a. Zaphiel ("God's Spy") - a Solomonic angel who is invoked by the Master of the Art during rites of power.

Zuriel ("My Rock is God") - a regent of Libra who cures stupidity in humans, the prince regent of the Principalities, and one of the childbed amulet angels. He is also an angel of September and, in Numbers 3:35, "chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari."
