Palmer had another doctor's appointment today.
His head is now 15 1/4" round, he is 23" long, and he weighs 14 lbs.
Today was also the day for Palmer to receive his first shots. Boy was
he pissed! The doctor injected the vaccines into the tops of his thighs.
The first injection was clean enough, but the second and third both drew
blood. As soon as I walked him out of the examining room, Palmer quit
screaming, but there was no soothing him so long as I remained in that room.
Before taking Palmer to the doctor, my friend Jesse took both of us to
lunch and to the park. A nice time was had by all. Jesse also dropped
us off at the doctor's office and returned an hour later to drive us home.
He's a very sweet friend.

Today was a busy day for Palmer and I. First, Palmer got to spend
the afternoon playing with Big Mama while Little Mama (I) went shopping
for some new clothes.
While I was out I bought Palmer a giant stuffed pterydactyl because,
well, it's very cool.
After I returned home Big Mama, Big Papa, Palmer, and I all went to Carrabba's
for my birthday dinner. The food was good, and, as usual, Palmer was fascinated
by all of the activity, sights, and sounds. After dinner the four of us went
shopping at Wal-Mart to pick up some diapers and things. Dinner was at seven,
we got home at 10:30. My boy was quite tired by then and fell fast asleep by 11:30 -
way past his usual 8:30 bedtime ~_~! We all had fun though, and that's what matters...

Palmer has taken to waking up happy ~_~!
For the past two mornings, instead of crying for a bottle, he lays in bed looking
all around him in a state of wonder while cooing to himself. It would seem that
his brain is really beginning to come alive, as he is also becoming more and more
alert and active, and sleeping for shorter periods of time.

Palmer and I began playing a new game today that I call "Scootch to Mama."
I laid him on his belly at the foot of my bed and had him scoot his way up to me.
He did it twice before he pooped out and wanted to call it quits.

Palmer and I have started playing another new game - good ol' fashioned "Airplane."
Though we've spiced it up a little by including mama's legs as a bouncing launch pad...
my little one is needing a lot more stimulation these days and we're both loving it ~_~!

Big Mama has started introducing Palmer to some new friends. He and Mr. Turtle
had a full fifteen minute conversation (the turtle says "mah nah mah nah").
And, well, he likes Mr. Panda so much that he just had to give him a hug ~_~...

Palmer has initiated a new game of his own. He really enjoy sitting and standing
tall these days. The play comes in with the standing part. If I hold on to his
hands he will use his legs to push himself up from a sitting postion, drop back down,
and come back up, over and over again. He's having a blast ~_~!

Palmer has started to hold on to things. Today he grabbed and held on to his rattle
for a good thirty seconds. He even gave it a couple of good shakes and bopped himself
in the head with it *lol* - good thing it's a soft rattle, eh? *lol*

Palmer has begun reaching out for people and objects. He will lean towards Big Mama
for her to take him from me, and vice versa, and he reaches for his bottle if you hold
it in front of him! He's even been known to try and hold his own bottle, but it's going
to be a while before he can do that for more than a few seconds at a time.
He's trying though...

I've discovered yet another new way to keep Palmer entertained - two new ways actually.
One, I hung his mobile over his day bed low enough for
him to really see it. He really enjoys laying beneath it and watching it spin. The
other is that I've begun laying him over a pillow (or his "Boppy") so that his upper
body is propped up and he has full use of his hands. Then I lay all of his toys out in
front of him. He likes to pick them up, hug them, shake them, and put them in his mouth
(of course ~_~).

Well, my baby boy is three months new today and he's growing fast ~_~!
It would appear that his mind has come alive and he's drinking in all that he sees,
hears, and feels. This has truly been a magical month of discovery and learning for
my little one, and Big Mama, Big Papa, Palmer and I are all loving it. Even though I'm
sure I'm going to miss these days, I can't wait to experience the rest of his adventures
as he continues to discover new and different things - about the world and himself...
