Palmer is five months new today.
October 5,2005
Palmer had his second set of shots today, and like the first time, he
was not happy about it. It's okay though, he went to sleep and forgot
all about it...

Palmer has begun to develop tickle spots. So far they are in the center
of his chest and his ribs - I'll keep searching for others though :).
October 9,2005
For about a week now Palmer has been getting up on all fours and rocking
back and forth, as if he's revving up to go forward, or so say the Grandfolks.
Today is the first time I actually saw him do it, though, and it was cute as
heck :)! Try as he might he ends up falling forward onto his nose...it doesn't
hurt, but boy does it fustrate him. Poor little guy, he'll get it one day...

While I was warming Palmer's 2 a.m. bottle I noticed him noticing me. He
watched intently as I took it from the cold place, put it into the warmer,
and took it out. He's figuring stuff out and it's very cool!

There is a stuffed dragon that I really like, that I've seen in two different
stores, but I passed on buying, for one reason or another. Well, today I saw it
for the third time and decided that it was fated to be mine. Boy was I wrong...
urns out it was fated to be Palmer's! I brought it home and laid it next to him
on the bed - he grabbed a hold and hugged and chewed on that puppy for a good half
hour straight. I think he's found a new best friend :)!
October 16,2005
Palmer put his pacifier in his mouth today, right side up and in, all on his own today :)!
October 17,2005
After a few days of observing me warming his bottle for him, he just couldn't
take it anymore...on the way back to the bedroom (where I normally feed him) he
leaned over and tried to drink the bottle while it was still upright in my hand.
Not the most patient of little smart dudes, is he? *heehee*
October 18,2005
Palmer has found a new sound - clicking. He laid in his play yard and clicked
his tongue for a good 2 or 3 minutes today...strange kid, I tell ya - he's
definitely my son :)!
October 19,2005
Well, it's finally happened - the little squirmer took his first header off
of the bed today. Luckily, the bed isn't very high off of the floor and he had
a paper bag full of paper to land on. He was most definitely annoyed and confused,
but not hurt in any way. Once I knew he was okay, the sight of his little feet
sticking up in the air popped back into my mind and I couldn't help but laugh -
a lot...I know, it's just not right, but, well, it was very funny!
October 21,2005
Today I had Palmer lying across my lap on his belly - a favorite position of his.
The remarkable thing about this time is that when he tired of the position, instead
of fussing, he simply used his hands to pull himself upright onto my torso. He's
really learning how to move these days!

The boy has definitely discovered his toes. He now loves to hold onto his feet
whenever I lay him on his back...
He also held his own bottle for the first time, today...
and has developed an odd love of the word "boo!" By odd I mean you don't even
have to do the "peek-a-" part. You can just say "boo," or you can make a string
of two or three or more boos, or you can even sing the word boo to a familiar toon,
such as "Shave and a Hair Cut." It matters not, it will make the boy laugh
everytime...he is such a riot :)!

Big Mama, Poppy, and I all took Palmer to the Splendid Buffet -
an all you can eat Chinese joint - for dinner tonight. He didn't really
eat much *heehee*, but we sure did! Anyhow, for dessert I decided to have
some frozen yogurt. Well, my little guy with the flailing arms decided that
he'd rather we wear it - that is until that freezing cold feeling spilled all
over his little legs! He was a tad purterbed, but got over it just as soon as
he started to warm up again. All in all it was pretty funny...
After we got home from dinner Big Mama and Palmer were playing on the living
room floor. Well, Mr. Independent decided he was going to stand up and start
walking! He grabbed on to Big Mama's arm, pulled himself to a standing position,
and took his very first unsteady step - you go boy :)!
