December 6,2005 Palmer has earned yet another nickname - Gimpy. It refers to the way he's been crawling lately - with one foot flat on the ground, as if he's trying to stand and crawl at the same time. December 8,2005 Palmer climbed onto the bed all by himself today... December 10,2005 Little Mr. Adventure decided to cross the threshold and explore the great outdoors today. He didn't go far - about two feet - but it's a start :). December 12,2005 My cute little sweetie laid his head in my hand when I carressed his cheek today... precious memories :)... December 13,2005 I gave Palmer his first piggy-back ride today. I figured it was time seeing as how he's taken to climbing on my back to pull himself to a standing position. He loved it :)! December 20,2005 This morning, while I was liying in bed, Palmer was playing on the floor next to me, as usual. Then he pulled himself up to standing using the edge of the bed and looked at me - also usual, except that this time he cocked his head sideways so that his face was in the same position as mine - it was an absolutely adorable moment :)! Palmer gave Poppy a very special greeting when he got home from work today - he gave him a hug that is normally reserved only for mommy. It goes like this: first, he hugs you, then, he pulls back to arms distance and looks you in the face (as if to make sure it's really you), and then he moves in for another hug (because he's so happy that it is you). December 22,2005 Palmer has some new sounds. One of them is that of a motorboat on water - complete with spray and all :)! The other is a little scary...at times he grumbles in a voice that would make you think he's possessed - if you've ever seen The Exorcist, that is. December 25,2005 Christmas Day We began this morning in a peaceful way, as Santa and his elf, at 7:30. First we had a bath, which is always fun these days, then we got dressed and nibbled on some cinnamon orange biscuits that were fresh from the oven (well, the elf did anyway :). Then, at around 10:30, Santa went down for a power nap. When he awoke, at 11, the action had begun, and he wasn't all that happy about it :( Auntie Heather, Cousin Samantha, and Cousin Jay had arrived to help us celbrate the Christmas, and Santa was a little put out to find his home full of strangers. He never got as upset as he did on Thanksgiving, and at times he actually managed to enjoy himself, but the little guy is definitely accustomed to his quiet life and gets a tad peeved when things happen to disrupt that peacefulness. December 26,2005 Palmer climbed off the bed feet first today! Yea, no more headers! January 2,2006 Palmer's first achievement of the new year is to have climbed onto the bed from the floor - without a step up...you go boy:)!
