Day Two
At 4:30 a.m., after a bit of a work, he breastfed for the first time.
It took him about 5 minutes to get the colostrum flowing from each side
but, he did it - much to his joy and mine...
Shortly after burping Palmer opens up his big beautiful eyes and lifts his
head up from my shoulder, as if to say "hi." At this point his face also
relaxed into what will always be, to me, his first smile.

Day Three
On this day, not only did he lift his head while lying on his belly, he also
turned it from the right to the left. Again he opened his eyes and, this time,
remained alert for about a minute's worth of interaction before drifting off
to sleep. Around 3:00 that afternoon he and I went home from the hospital.

Day Four
I laid Palmer down on his back between two pillows and he rolled over on to his
left side. Gonna have to keep a close eye on m'boy!

Day Five
Got a few more smiles today - I love it when he does that ~_~!
Tried to give him his first sponge bath. He didn't care for it too much so, to
ease his distress I just stopped trying and started nursing him. Well, the
little bare-bottomed prince let his dipleasure fly - he pooped on mom - twice!

Day Six
Boy, oh boy is this one content little boy! He smiled off and on for at least
a minute straight - it was wonderful to see... A little later on Big Mama
(Grandma) laid him down to sleep and he actually soothed himself into a deep slumber...

Day Seven
Yeah, my milk is finally in! It was tough hangin' in there, but he's worth it...
I also got my very first pee fountain today ~_~! (It didn't get me but, I'm
sure one of them will ~_~.) Tried giving him a sponge bath again, today. This
time it worked just fine...
Got a very special treat today - Palmer remained alert an playful for an entire
three hours. We had a great time making faces (him) and laughing (me) together.
I'm not sure which is my favorite - the times that he's alert or the times that
he's nestled in close on my chest. I love them both...
Palmer's cord also fell off today. This makes diaper changes a whole lot easier
on us both. The other day I decided to change the little one's diaper while he
was on his belly (he always screams when you put him flat on his back), and he
liked it. Now that I don't have to fold the diaper down I can put the clean one
on while he's upside-down, too. He'll like that ~_~...
